Kitten does phone

If you're one of my friends then you know that I don't "do phone." I e-mail and I meet up with you in person but I've just never been good at the whole phone conversation thing and generally avoid calling folks. I guess that's changing since I spent hours on the phone last night talking to a couple of my dear friends. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I'm alone in the apartment until next week. Usually I always have roommates around. Now I'm learning to adjust to living alone in a huge apartment (at least until one of them gets back into town next week). And after hours on the phone, I chatted online with Steven from Noc Noc until it was time for bed. Again, I don't normally chat online. It's probably been months since I even opened Yahoo Messenger on my computer.

The one problem with all the hours of phone conversations is that last week my cordless headset phone developed a short in one of it's wires. It cuts in and out now and is pretty much useless. Sadly, last night, I found myself not only leashed to the wall by a normal corded phone, but had to hold the cradle in my hand or against my shoulder as it did not have a built in headset. I'm so used to wondering about the apartment hands free while I'm on the phone that I felt trapped by the corded hand set. I went back to K-Mart where I got my wonderful headset cordless phone for only $20. It's this one:

K-Mart no longer carries it and I can't find a headset cordless phone anywhere for less than $40. Does anyone know where I can get one for less than that? Or does anyone know how to fix a phone with a wire loose? Because at this rate it would be cheaper for me take a friend out to lunch for fixing my phone than it would to buy a new one!
