playing on the Vogue pole

Last night at the Vogue I had the privilege of seeing candy_androgyne pole dance. Humbling. Just humbling. I only know a few tricks really and I can't fly around and transition from move to move like he does. He tried to teach me one of his moves but I honestly felt overwhelmed and didn't think that I could do it. He only knows how to spin on a rotating pole and the one I have in my home is stationary. I may have to sell my dancer pole at some point and replace it with a spinning pole, then he could teach me in the privacy and comfort of my own home. I think that would be much easier than a dark, crowded club with lots of people watching.

I also attempted a couple new tricks I've never done on the spinning pole before. It was downright scary when I tried this one:

In spite of wearing PVC pants that usually grip the pole really well, I actually started to very slowly slide downward as I was hanging upside down like that. It was so slow that it might not have been noticeable. But I knew if I didn't set back up quickly that I could eventually land on my head. Candy_Androgyne cleaned the pole so it wouldn't be so slippery. But I still found myself in a slow descent when I tried hanging upside down again. I'm not sure what the problem is, but it was very disappointing. I need to practice at home more and figure out some way to get a tighter grip on the pole with my legs. Maybe I just need more leg strength.

~Thanks for all you do to make a better world for yourself and others.
