Curtain problem solved

Well what do you know, I actually CAN get non-ugly curtains at JC Penney. It turns out there was a very good reason (or a very stupid reason) they only had one very ugly black fake velvet fabric to make curtains for me with. Because some one else wanted black curtains for her home and took from JC Penney EVERY black curtain sample they had except of course...for the unbelievably ugly one. So when I got there, they told me the ugly one was the only black they had. Lucky for me the lady that took all their black curtain fabric samples home returned them yesterday and JC Penney called me and asked me to come back in. I was upset about having to drive all the way back there again today, but I'm glad I did.

I found in their samples a suede fabric that looks a lot like velvet. It's got a sheen to it that's classy and pretty. And they offer a blackout liner option, yay! Plus if I open a JC Penney card, I get 15% off. So with that 15% off, my total to put curtains up not just on The catch is they take 3 weeks to arrive. So I will be without curtains for a couple weeks. I'll be looking for a very cheap alternative to curtains over the next week. And I might even just tape up newspaper if I have to.

The caterpillar move

Today at the end of my level 4 class, the students asked to see me climb backward up the pole. I told them it had been so long since I had tried it that I wasn't sure how it would go. But I put on some good music and gave it a shot.

Much to my complete surprise, it was easier than ever. In less than 2 seconds I snaked my way feet first up the pole until my feet were touching the ceiling. Apparently my grip and arm positioning has improved so much since the last time I tried it, that it's now almost effortless.

I'm very pleased. Sometime I spend so much time teaching that there just isn't room for me to learn and improve myself. So I'm happy when I discover that I have improved dramatically.
