socks and cat

If you want to see a movie with gratuitous blood and gor that serves absolutely no purpose to the plot whatsoever (the killing does, but not depicting it so shockingly and so horribly)...

If you want to see a movie in which you become emotionally invested in the characters only to have no payoff at the end and feel cheated...

If you want to see a movie that will depress the hell out of you so much at the end that you want to slit your own throat...

...then go see Sweeney Todd.

Would some one please explain to me why people pay to see this play and why it was worth adapting into a movie? Had I actually paid for my own ticket I surely would have wanted a refund.

I am a lucky girl

Home with bio family. There aren't any people here that were responsible for raising me (I don't really have those), but the rest of my blood folks like aunts and an uncle and grandparents are here. They are happy to see me. I'm a lucky girl. I don't really have anything in common with these folks and they live in a completely different world than I do. But once per year we gather and I have family that makes me feel warm and welcome. I don't really understand it. But I'm glad I have this place to go each year. I'm glad I have blood kin that welcome me.
