Quote of the Day...

"It's not what you look at that matters, it's what you see."

~Henry David Thoreau

And now it's your turn. What does this quote mean to you? Or can you explain a time that you looked at something and then chose to see it differently?

The debut of the "skirt"

So last night I finally had the courage to wear the infamous world's shortest skirt to the club. In spite of the fact that there were plenty of women wearing far less than I was, I suddenly found that I had a large number of men I don't know coming up to introduce themselves to me. I wasn't quite sure what to do with all that extra attention.

There were also a few running jokes about the skirt. I would say something to a friend about leaving my skirt alone (my male friends would try to unzip the skirt when they hugged me) to which their response would always be, "Oh? That's a skirt? I thought it was a belt."

I would say that having a skirt that doesn't quite cover your rear was a fun experiment. But I don't think it was really me and I wouldn't be surprised if I never wear it again. Because when I was out on the dance floor, I felt kind of naked. And not because my rear was peeking out a bit, but because when I would dance and twirl, there was nothing flowy twirling about with me. I much prefer the long, flowy, ankle length sheer skirts that twirl and float with me as I get my swirl on.
