Kitten dancing in a cage2

Here I go!

Ohmygod-ohmygod-ohmygod-ohmygod-ohmygod-ohmygod-ohmygod-ohmygod-ohmygod-ohmygod-ohmygod-ohmygod-ohmygod-ohmygod-ohmygod-ohmygod-ohmygod-ohmygod...it's really happening!

I called the pole dancing school down in LA today and WE ARE A GO!!!!

Slight set back though. Classes start the 28th of October. Way sooner than I anticipated. I can still catch the very last session of the 1st class on Monday November 3rd. But seedmoon's party is Friday October 31st - leaving very little time for the drive down to Los Angeles.

Now some might say: This is your dream. Skip the party and start driving down on Friday so you can make that Monday class. But so many people I know will be at that party that it will feel like a going away celebration of sorts for me. I want to be with those people and celebrate together and commune and party and snuggle and hug them all goodbye. What a wonderful send-off that will be right before I venture out into the world to take on my dream. But then I will have to drive like a maniac for 10 hours at a time to get there in two days.

Both a loss and a lesson

An e-mail just went out to all the FDIC offices (including mine) announcing the passing of a Claudette Carter. I recognized the name because I send a certain set of paperwork to her in San Francisco regularly. The e-mail said that she served the FDIC for 39 years. And I thought...my god!

While government jobs like hers have excellent benefits, I don't think they are ever enjoyable or stimulating. I mean people: she pushed paper for 39 years!!!

After pushing paper for 39 years she never got to retire. She never got to enjoy her last days traveling or relaxing or doing what she loves. No. She died doing what she's been doing most of her life...pushing papers.

All I can say is thank God I have discovered something I love. Thank God I'm packing up the little truck and heading to LA next month to see if I'm good enough at it to make a living. Thank God I'm taking a risk for a chance to live my dream...so I won't have to die after 39 years of pushing around paper.

Thank you God.
