software service is a retail item now
I have just been informed by Constant Contact that:
"software, delivered as a service" is a retail taxable item.
So now the newsletter softward I use to manage my 1,500 member mailing list will start charging me an extra $5 per month.
It's bad enough that Washington can tax "fitness" as a retail item. But now software service too? I'm waiting for the state to find a way to tax "fun" because once "fun" is taxable they can start taxing my pole parties.
