ready for a hair change

I just made an appointment at Jene Juarez in Bellevue for Thursday September 10th. I'm ready for HUGE change. Bobbing the hair to chin length and changing the chunky blond and pink under layer to a more solid under layer with just blond and no pink.

I'm terrified. I love having length to may hair. Love it. Love it. LOVE IT. But it doesn't do what I want long hair to do. And I figure a bob can't take that long to grow out if I don't like it.

My only concern is that with the pink gone, I will look "normal". It's important to me to identify with the alternative crowd I run with. I spent years being forced to look normal so I could hold professional jobs. I need to feel free of that and the pink hair was part of declaring my freedom from the corporate world as well as my belonging to the more alternative communities. I hope the coloring person at a ritzy and upscale salon can understand me when I tell her to keep the blond underlayer a bit freaky.
