canceling my birthday this week

I'm doing it again this year, I'm canceling my birthday. My birthday is Friday and my treat for my birthday was going to the Britney Spears concert Thursday night with friends. But for the last few weeks I have been too insanely busy with the business (or away at the Vampire Ball) to shop online for the best tickets at the best price. And now that it is last minute, I've decided I would rather have that time Thursday night to pack and prepare for Norwescon. Although on the upside, the money I would have spent on a ticket is now going toward a private room for us at con rather than a group room with friends.

Last year I canceled my birthday dinner for business. As it was, it was nearly impossible to get an evening off to schedule it. But once I did schedule it and the invites were out, I found out about this fantastic workshop being offered through Biznik.com that showed everyone how to make their website appear at the top of search engines -- on the same night. With competitors popping up and sometimes showing up on the search engines before I do, I felt like attending that workshop was more important for my future than a birthday party. So I canceled the birthday plans and went to the workshop instead. It turned out to be a great decision. I applied everything I learned at the workshop and my website consistently comes up at the top or nearly the top whenever you google for pole classes in Seattle.

I just can't believe I'm canceling my birthday for a second year in a row. But at least I still have Norwescon as a mini-vacation to enjoy for my birthday.

Well, it is a handy way to avoid getting older.
forgodestiny and I have something small for you I will have on Friday.
Awww...thank you for making it all birthday like for me with a surprise. :)
It's not a surprise if they tell you it's coming!
it won't be much of a birthday if you are all stressed out.. Enjoy life baby :D
Doesn't it suck that as we become adults our birthdays mean less and less? I think I've pretty much done away with them at this point. You've got the right attitude, the private room will be better use of the $$.
I would imagine that having a business is a lot like having a child. Your priorities change and you want to put all your energy into that instead of yourself.
