The communication between the pilot and air traffic control of the flight that recently landed in the Hudson river was just released to the media. Listening to it, it's absolutely amazing how calm the pilot and air traffic controller are. I mean this is good, this is their job. You can't save people if you're too busy getting emotional and panicking and losing time. But damn. I'm so impressed with how calm they both were right before a plane crash.

I heard it as well, and was just stunned by the way he kept saying "No, we're landing in the Hudson" like it has an airstrip.

Of course, this is doing nothing for the boy, who is terrified of flying...and we're going to NJ in a couple of months. I see Xanax (or possibly really good scotch) for him on that flight.
