Curtain problem solved

Well what do you know, I actually CAN get non-ugly curtains at JC Penney. It turns out there was a very good reason (or a very stupid reason) they only had one very ugly black fake velvet fabric to make curtains for me with. Because some one else wanted black curtains for her home and took from JC Penney EVERY black curtain sample they had except of course...for the unbelievably ugly one. So when I got there, they told me the ugly one was the only black they had. Lucky for me the lady that took all their black curtain fabric samples home returned them yesterday and JC Penney called me and asked me to come back in. I was upset about having to drive all the way back there again today, but I'm glad I did.

I found in their samples a suede fabric that looks a lot like velvet. It's got a sheen to it that's classy and pretty. And they offer a blackout liner option, yay! Plus if I open a JC Penney card, I get 15% off. So with that 15% off, my total to put curtains up not just on The catch is they take 3 weeks to arrive. So I will be without curtains for a couple weeks. I'll be looking for a very cheap alternative to curtains over the next week. And I might even just tape up newspaper if I have to.

The newspaper might be a little tacky, but it will prevent light/peepers from looking in, and you can explain to your girls that you did everything in your power to have the studio fully decorated before your first lesson, and the universe was not willing to help at all.

I really don't think they'll mind -- they'll be having too much fun to care about newspaper on windows :)
I think that sounds like a great idea. See if you can get a big roll of brown craft paper instead and draw all over it. "Welcome to the New Studio" "Pole for the Soul", etc. And then expalain to the students the new curtains are coming, but, you wanted to make the first weeks a bit fun. They'll get it.
