movin' along

This afternoon I am meeting two new teacher trainees at the bank to have their training contracts signed and notarized. Because they only train for 2 to 4 hours a week, the entire training process takes 12 to 18 weeks. But if they both finish training, I will have two new instructors ready to go in 18 weeks and that means it will be time to start shopping for a second studio location around October or November.

OMG. It takes that long to train. Do you pay for all that training?
As a rule, most schools when teaching you a skill, charge you for the training. You have to pay your college for training. Med students pay their medical schools for their training, etc. Paying some one to give them a working skill they can use to make money is not really the standard of practice anywhere.

Unless by "pay for training" you mean does it cost me money. Yes. Every hour that I am training them I am losing money, because I can't use that time to teach or run the business.
Look at you, successful business woman, you! I'm impressed.
Holy cow it's hard work! Thank you!!
I am beyond impressed by how far you've come since I first started reading your journal. You deserve major kudos, and I'm so glad that your risks have paid off for you!

I don't know if you know this, but you've also been very inspirational to me. When I decided to move to a real city, I knew (because of you) that I'd have to seek out a similar school here. I found one (and only a 15 minute walk away!) but alas, thanks to the pregnancy it'll have to wait until next year. I just wanted to let you know that even those people that don't know you IRL are paying attention, and wishing you the best.
Thank you SO much!
