He explained to me the difference in quality between drug store eye shadow and Mac eye shadow. Now I almost never wear eye shadow, I would say maybe 4 or 5 times a year for special costume and fetish club events. I guess it has just been too frustrating for me to try and figure out because I don't know how to use it and I couldn't figure out why I could never get the beautiful gothy smokey eyed look like these:
It turns out my drug store eye shadow doesn't stay on and my dollar store make-up brushes are completely useless. With a quick education from Diamond Boy and two helpful salespeople at the Mac counter, I found myself wanting to try the look again but this time with real make-up and tools that might help me achieve it. At first I thought I might just buy the $15 sparkly black eye shadow. But before I knew it, I was walking out the door over $80 later with two black eye shadows (one is a sparkly powder and the other is thick pencil), two new make-up brushes and a bottle of make-up brush cleaner. I haven't tried to use it yet, but I sure hope it's worth the money. He got some new make-up too!
