I did feel just a bit cheated because the regular actor that plays the title character was not there that night. We got to see his understudy instead. The regular actor portrayed Edward with long dark hair. That's sexy. The understudy had lighter hair and instead of wearing it long, he had it spiked up in all directions. He looked a bit like a freakish clown, not a sexy goth boy. I would have prefereed the sexy version of Edward.
The highlight of the show for me was the formal Christmas ball gown worn by the character that we called the "slutty neighbor" who tried to seduce Edward. Black...velvet...sparkles...lace...open in the front so you could see the underlayer of red satin billow around her as she danced. I want that dress so bad it HURTS! My first thought was to find out if they auction the clothes off at the end of the run. But then I realized that this show probably tours the country and will continue to do so with that dress. My second thought was that I could have a reproduction made. But I need a picture of it first, and I can't find one on google. Where can I find pictures of all the costumes in the play?
