It turned out to be a bachelorette party and it was a surprise for the bride to be. She couldn't figure out why she was supposed to wear work out clothes to her surprise. She though they were taking her to a yoga class! Needless to say, she was thrilled! They took a ton of pictures and even gave me permission to put their picture up on my website. I wish I had thought to prepare surveys for them to fill out at the end because no doubt they would have given me glowing testimonials. They told me all the way out the door how much fun they had.
I must admit though that I had NO idea what hard work it would be. Much harder than teaching a formal class. I mean here I thought I had stumbled onto this great way to make $100 an hour. In reality, you work your tail off for this. Preparation and cleaning up after the party have to be taken into consideration. And these girls aren't disciplined or serious like my students (which is okay, a party isn't supposed to be disciplined). Trying to teach something challenging while making sure the mood is light and tons of fun... is really REALLY hard work!! I'm not even sure I want to do this as a regular thing. But the money is good and the girls have a fantastic time. So I will definitely book a couple more pole parties before I make up my mind. The girls all asked for my card. So once they tell their friends how much fun this was, I may be booking more parties for them.
